In 2014, Coats was accepted into the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s New & Aspiring Leaders Program and takes classes each semester. She has been actively involved in education, selected as 2013 Teacher of the Year by the Texas PTA in Austin out of thousands of candidates statewide.
She has covered celebrity events from the Emmy’s to the Super Bowl to the NBA All-Star Game. She’s interviewed hundreds of A-List celebrities and has become friends with many of them and their families over the years. In turn, Coats is launching an online magazine, along with a podcast series interviewing many of these high profile difference makers that she’s had the honor to feature over the years.
Coats believes that anything is possible in life, encouraging her clients and students to dream big!
Chris Coats has over 15 years of national journalism experience as a staff reporter with People Magazine, senior editor with Us Weekly, and as a longtime weekly columnist with the Dallas Morning News. Through her public relations and social media firm, Ten90 Success, she has the national and local media experience, along with social media to garner coveted customer and media exposure for clients. Her clients range from Hollywood celebrities to multi-million dollar corporations to small businesses. Coats also teaches at SMU, educating students on the ins and outs of what it takes to be a journalist and public relations specialist. She is honored to be a part of SMU, known for their devotion to excellence in teaching and is proud of the accomplishments of her students!
